Resource

Resources are the ingame currency and are used to build ships, flagships, outposts, construct satellites, and research new technology. You can only get resources from outposts, by building mining satellites on hexes adjacent to your outposts, and through support carriers.

There are three types of resources available: ore, crystal and fuel. Each outpost, support carrier, and resource frigate is able to produce resources every tick. Players are able to increase their resource production by either building mining satellites next to outposts, deploying support carriers at +50 per point, or increasing the systems resource percentages through surveying with a flagship. Each resource type has a cap on total amount of that resource that can be stored; any production that would increase a player's supply of a resource above cap is wasted.

Metallic alloys are used in every aspect of starship construction, from the thick armored plating that forms their hulls to the countless kilometers of intricate wiring in their electronics. A supply of raw ore is critical to the production of a fleet.

Ore is generally the primary resource used in the construction of ships and flagships. It is also used to supplement the research of technologies and is gathered in the following manner:

  • Resource Rate x Ore Density x 2

Each player may store up to 50,000 ore.

Once one of the rarest known substances, the strange properties of Telurian crystal is what allows starships to breach the barriers of Subspace and travel faster than the speed of light. The galaxy beyond the Icarus Gate is rich in this material, allowing startling advances to be made in high-energy technologies.

Crystal is generally the primary resource used in the research of new technologies. It is also used to supplement the construction of ships and is gathered in the following manner:

  • Resource Rate x Crystal Density

Each player may store up to 25,000 crystal.

Fuel File:Resource-fuel.png

Deuterium and tritium gasses are used in fusion reactors of every size, from the tiny reactors on interceptors and cutters to the massive halo reactors used in heavy cruisers and dreadnoughts. Without fuel, a fleet is little more than a useless collection of parts.

Fuel is used to power ships each tick. Fuel must be used immediately and cannot be saved up for use in future ticks. If a player cannot produce enough fuel to support currently active fleets or newly constructed fleets, all fleet construction is halted until the player is able to meet the demand for fuel either through the destruction of ships or the acquisition of new fuel sources. The amount of fuel that is available to power a player's fleet each tick is calculated in the following manner:

  • Resource Rate x Fuel Density
